Obituary for Ted Cecil Whitaker

Ted Cecil Whitaker, age 58 of Douglasville, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2017. He was born on July 4, 1959 in Fayetteville, Tennessee, son of the late Robert Lewis “R.L.” Whitaker and Madie Crabb Whitaker. He was a petroleum distribution specialist with Pacer Fuels with 30 years service. Ted was a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Assoc.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Ellyn Whitaker; daughter: Heather Mayeske and her husband, Alex; son: Nathan Vanderven and his wife, Jennifer; daughter: Ashleigh Beckum and her husband, Nathan; sisters: Freida Prewett and her husband, Hubert B., Ruth Reeves and her husband, Donnie; brothers: Ronnel Whitaker and his wife, Cathy, Ronnie Whitaker and his wife, Mary, and Tony Whitaker and his wife, Sharon; numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at 5 PM on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Hightower’s Memorial Chapel with Pastor Hubert B. Prewett officiating.
Per Ted’s wishes, he will be cremated following the service.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the funeral home from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
