Obituary for Lonnie Mae Bowen

Lonnie Mae Cotton Bowen, age 91, of Douglasville passed away Saturday, September 23, 2017. She was born in Clay County Alabama on October 2, 1925 to the late Arie Eugene Cotton and the late Lollie Mae Crosson Cotton. She was a homemaker and she loved to take care of children at the local churches. Mae was a member of Central Baptist Church in Douglasville.

She is survived by her children, Ann Jay and husband, Randy of Douglasville, J.L. Bowen and wife, Toni of Carrollton, Gene Bowen and wife, Jeannie of Winston, Gail Webb and husband, Warner of Winston, Gary Bowen and wife, Sheila of Villa Rica; sisters, Katie Camp of Douglasville, Clara Strickland of Centre, Alabama; brother, C.W. Cotton and wife, Linda of Douglasville; 15 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Aurthr Leonard Bowen; daughter, Linda Bowen; son, Danny Bowen; 8 siblings.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 with Charles Gibbs and Larry Tucker officiating.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM.

In accordance with her wishes her body will be cremated following the service.

In lieu of flowers the family request contributions be made to the Vision 20/20 at Central Baptist Church, 5811 Central Church Road, Douglasville, Georgia 30135.
