Obituary for Clarence William Shipman

Clarence William Shipman, age 68, of Marietta, GA, formerly of Douglasville, GA, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017. He was born on July 7, 1948, in South Carolina, son of the late Ansel James Shipman and the late Katherine Odom Shipman. Clarence was retired as a Custodian for the Douglas County Board of Education, and he was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and avid church-goer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his brother, James Odom.
He is survived by his wife, Valorie Patterson Shipman; daughters, April Lancer and husband, Lee, and Deeanna Fry and husband, David; grandchildren, William Fry and Allison Fry.
Funeral services will take place at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 11, from Hightower's Memorial Chapel with Rev. Mike Powers and Rev. Randy Shirley officiating. Interment will follow the service at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery, Hwy. 166, Douglasville, GA.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, March 10, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
