Obituary for Barbara Anne Lambert Latham

Barbara Anne Lambert Latham, age 82, of Douglasville, passed away Friday, August 25, 2017. She was born in Grantville, Georgia on October 3, 1934, the daughter of the late Eunice Young Lambert and the late Maude Thompson Lambert. Barbara graduated from Newnan High School in 1952. She worked for Winn Dixie as a Key Punch Supervisor for 27 years. Barbara had a giving spirit and enjoyed volunteering at Wellstar Douglas Hospital for 15 years and with Good Samaritan. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and attended Charlie Holloway’s Sunday school class. Barbara was also a member of the Citizens Law Enforcement Academy with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband: Harold Benny Latham; sisters: Sara Johnson, Thelma Hoover, and Mildred Wilkerson; brothers: twins, Horace Lambert and Harold Lambert, John B. Lambert, Sr., Bill Lambert, Sr., Tommy Lambert, and Eunice “Bubba” Lambert.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: David and Sandy Latham of Winston; daughters: Beth Pierce and Sharon Hudson, both of Douglasville; Jeanie and Mike Grisby of Bossier City, LA; Alta Edwards of Monticello, GA; grandchildren: Kaylie Hudson and her husband, Cole Woods, Tyler Latham, Kenneth Hollis, and his wife, Katie Rigby, Trever Latham, Spencer Pierce, and Madison Pierce, and her husband, Corey Tison; great grandchildren: twins, Cameron Woods and Casey Woods, and Presley Hollis; brother-in-law: Taze Latham and his wife, Lynette; sisters-in-law: Sara Teague and her husband, Stanley, and Judith Kay and her husband, Bobby; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Central Baptist Church on Sunday, August 27, 2017 from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. A Memorial Service will begin at 3:00 P.M. in the Worship Center at Central Baptist Church with Pastor Steve McFall and Reverend Larry Tucker officiating.
Wellstar Volunteers are asked to serve as Honorary Pallbearers, along with Kenneth Hollis, Dent Lambert, Trey Lambert, Cole Woods, and unable to attend are: Tyler Latham (deployed in the Mediterranean with the U.S. Navy), and Trever Latham (deployed in Central America with the U.S. Navy).
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests contributions to Vision 20/20 at Central Baptist Church, 5811 Central Church Rd, Douglasville, GA 30135.
