Life Legacy
Ellen Louise Martin Patterson, age 88 of Douglasville, passed away, March 21, 2011. She was born September 23, 1922 in Ben Hill, GA, to the late Laurence Leonard Martin and Jennie Lee Helton Martin. She was a Veteran of WWII Army, PFC and Baptist by faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie James Patterson.
Survivors are her daughters: Mandy Shipman of Pendergrass, GA, Rose Thomas of Douglasville, Juanita Steward of Newnan, son: James Patterson of Douglasville, daughters and sons-in-law: Valorie and Clarence Shipman of Douglasville, Sandra and Raymond Sellers of Atlanta; sons and daughters-in-law: Laurence and Cheryl Patterson of Tampa, FL and Walter and Joan Patterson of Alabama, Steve and Cindy Patterson of Alabama, sister: Ruby Lee Harper of Jonesboro, 22 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 25, 2011 at 11:00 AM from Hightower’s Memorial Chapel, Douglasville with Rev. Billy Bedingfield and Rev. Jeff Childers, officiating. Interment will follow in the New Hope Cemetery, Cascade Road, Atlanta, with Christian Belk, Vaughn Slay, Rickey Steward, David Fry, Lee Lancer, Paul Bedingfield serving as Pallbearers.
The family will receive friends, Wednesday, March 23, 2011 from 5-9pm and Thursday, March 24, 2011 from 9:00 AM until 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
