Life Legacy
Ides Verlyn Gramling, lovingly called “Cowboy”, age 68 of Douglasville, passed away, January 12, 2011. He was born in Hickory Flat, GA to the Doris Hembree Gramling and the late I.W. Gramling. He worked as a contractor for landscaping and was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy of Powder Springs.
Survivors are his wife Janice “Jan” Markel Gramling of Douglasville; mother, Doris Hembree Gramling; children and their spouses; Scott and Sandy Gramling and Tracy and Harry Johnson, all of Douglasville, Tina and Chris Parks of Commerce and Mylon and Deanna Faith Gramling of Cartersville; brother and sisters and their spouses: Wayne and Debbie Gramling of Douglasville, Shirley and Ron Baxter of Douglasville, Rhonda and Dan Vest of Rockmart; Karen Burkett of Austell and Judy Fox of Powder Springs; grandchildren, Christopher Parks, Kelsey Parks, Timothy Johnson, Peyton Gramling, Triston Gramling, Ansley Gramling, Caleb Gramling, Aubrey Gramling and Abigail Gramling; three great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 14, 2011 at 4:00 PM from Hightower’s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Darrel Creel and Mr. Doc Stovall officiating. The music will be rendered by Mr. Ray Ruffner. Interment will follow in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens with, Timothy Johnson, Christopher Parks, Michael Vest, Caleb Gramling, Daryl Gramling and Rick Hollis serving as Pallbearers.
A reception will follow the service in the Hightower's Memorial Chapel Family Care Center.
The family will receive friends, Friday, January 14, 2011 from 12 Noon until 4:00 PM at the funeral home.
