Life Legacy


Betty Jo Ferguson Butler, age 77, of Douglasville passed away Thursday, December 23, 2010. She was born in Adairsville, Georgia on June 5, 1933 to Elbert and Gracie Lewis Ferguson. She was a retired bakery worker for the National Biscuit Company and a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Jewel Ferguson, Melvin Ferguson, and Terrell Ferguson; sisters, Beatrice Womack and Gussie Walraven.

She is survived by her husband, Donald F. Butler of Douglasville; sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Betty Butler of Winston, Melvin and Linda Butler of Douglasville, Guy and Karen Butler of Carrollton; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Jean Ferguson of Loganville; grandchildren, Carmen Taff, D.J. Butler, Jason Butler, and Christopher Betts; great grandchildren, Raina Chalkley, Makayla Betts and Gabrielle Thompson.

Funeral services will be on Friday, December 24, 2010 at 12:00 pm from Hightower’s Memorial Chapel with Pastor Barry Golden officiating. Commitial and interment will be held on Friday, December 24, 2010 at 2:00 pm in the Crestlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, December 23, 2010, from 5:00 until 8:00pm.
