Mr. Joseph David Ponder, age 58, of Douglasville, passed away on Friday, October 29, 2010. He was born on November 24, 1951, in Atlanta, Georgia, the son of the late Mr. Joseph Wesley Ponder and the late Mrs. Johnnie Miller Ponder. He was a Computer Technician for Dendrite International for 13 years and was a member of the Union Grove Christian Church in the Fairplay Community. David was loved by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Susan Vandegriff Ponder of Douglasville; children and their spouses, Beth and Rusty Brown and Sarah and Jimmy Whitlow, all of Douglasville and Joseph and Shiela Ponder and Lydia and Cody Watson, all of College Station, Texas; sister, Dale Overstreet of Douglasville; brothers and sister-in-law, Clark and Janice Ponder of Douglasville and Dean Ponder of Fayetteville, Georgia; grandchildren, Skyla Whitlow, Lily Whitlow, Wesley Ponder and Alexis Watson; aunts, Sarah Brock and Jimmie Perkna of Fairburn, Georgia; close friends, Mike and Gina Mallory and their family and the Union Grove Christian Church family.
In accordance with his wishes, his body was cremated.
A Memorial Service will be held, Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 2:00 PM from
the funeral home, with Minister Mike Mallory officiating.
