Life Legacy
Mr. William "Bobby" Browning, age 74, of Douglasville, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2010. He was born in Carroll County on November 16, 1935 the son of the late William Arlie and Mary Bell White Browning. He was in the National Guard and was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Douglasville. Mr. Browning was the co-owner and later became owner of Dodson Tire Company from 1966 until 1987. In 1987, Mr. Browning began the Browning Towing and Windshield Service. The service remained a family business until 2001.
On August 6, 1955, Mr. Browning married the love of his life, Lou Nell Haney. They would have soon celebrated 55 years of marriage. He loved his wife and family dearly and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Jo Thomason and Sara Nell Fields.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 55 years, Lou Nell Haney Browning of Douglasville; daughters and son-in-law, Gina and David Owenby of Topton, North Carolina, and Laura Ruth Browning of Douglasville; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Yvonne Browning of Waco; 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, William Haney and his wife, Martha, of Douglasville; sister-in-law, Opal Harmon and husband, Charles, of Douglasville.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at 2:00 pm from Hightower's Memorial Chapel in Douglasville with Ministers Lamar Parson and Alan Butler officiating.
Interment will follow in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens with Eric Shaw, Curt Shaw, Jason LeMastus, Chad DeHart, Brian Fields and Rodney Howard serving as Pallbearers.
