Biography

Mr. Julis T. Slay, Sr., age 67, of Hollyhock Lane, Douglasville, passed away Sunday, June 27, 2010. He was born on February 18, 1943 in Talladega, Alabama, the son of the late Theodore Roosevelt Slay and the late Addie Mae Barker Slay. He worked for Hobart and for Fairbanks as a Service Technician for a number of years. He was a Baptist by faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Catherine Slay; and his brother, Jack Slay.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Amanda Slay and Terry and Stacey Slay all of Douglasville; grandchildren, Drew Slay, Alex Slay, Josh Slay and Zachary Slay; his twin brother, Ulis Slay of Douglasville; brother, Bob Slay of Ellijay; the mother of his children, Brenda P. Slay of Douglasville; former spouse, Wyllene Williams of Baker, Florida.

Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at 11:00 am from Hightower’s Memorial Chapel with Pastor Rodney Carson officiating.

Interment will follow in the Holly Hill Memorial Park in Fairburn, Georgia.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
