Life Legacy


Era Mae Sudduth, age 90, of Douglasville passed away Friday, June 11, 2010. She was born June 30, 1919 in Douglasville, Georgia daughter of the late Pearl and Ida Mae Gattis Strawn. She was a faithful member of the Ephesus Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was a loving caregiver to her parents and her grandchildren whom she loved spending time with. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and especially baking her beloved biscuits.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Dewitt Sudduth on August 25,2009; brothers, Hoyt Strawn, Oren Strawn, Lewis Strawn; Sisters, Mary Denson, Louise Terry, and Joyce Harper.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca and Alan Bolding of Douglasville and Denise and Sam Eaton of Villa Rica; sisters, Betty Wadsworth of Carrollton and Nell Hallman of Augusta; brother Joe Strawn of Winston; grandchildren, Brett Bolding, Eric Eaton and Becky Lynn Eaton.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 until 8:00 pm on Friday, June 11, 2010.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon, June 12, 2010 at 2:00PM from Hightower’s Memorial Chapel with Dr. Billy Godwin officiating.

Interment will follow in Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery.
