Life Legacy


Grace Elizabeth Shaw, age 92 of Douglasville, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2010. She was born January 31, 1918 in Hiram, GA, daughter of the late George Henry Gober and Myrtie White Gober. She was married to her husband, Dewey E. Shaw, in Hapeville, GA, June 27, 1948. She was a member of the Douglasville Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey E. Shaw, two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law: David and Lauren Shaw of Alpharetta, Dr. Dewey Paul Shaw of Mobile, AL, Philip Shaw of Douglasville; her grandchildren: Brandon and Kimberly Shaw of Cumming, Ms. Kerri Shaw of Alpharetta; three great grandchildren, Kylie, Genton and Chandler Shaw; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 26, 2010 at 11:00 AM from Hightower’s Memorial Chapel with sons, David and Philip Shaw officiating. Music will be rendered by Jim Landers. Interment will follow at the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Doug Gober, Carlos Gober, Steve Gober, Dan Prince, Rick Prince and Mitch Grubb serving as Pallbearers.

The family will receive friends, Thursday, February 25, 2010 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
