LaNell Dukes Waldrop

Biography

LaNell Dukes Waldrop,87, passed away on January 25, 2010. She was at Angel Medical Center in Franklin, North Carolina, under Hospice Care. She was born in Bill Arp, Georgia and lived most of her adult life in Atlanta until moving to the Northeast Georgia mountains in 2003 to be with her two daughters.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy D. Waldrop; and son-in-law, Jim Robbins.

She is survived by her daughters, Guynelle Robbins and Nancy Waldrop of Rabun County, Georgia. There are three grandsons and their spouses: Jeff and Denise Robbins, Durango, Colorado; Christopher and Michelle Robbins of Portland, Oregon; John and Ali Robbins of Macon, Georgia; and one granddaughter, Amy Robbins of Marietta, Georgia and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Marvine Dukes, the widow of her brother, Thomas Dukes, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be at Hightower's Memorial Chapel, Douglasville, at 1:00 pm, Thursday, January 28, 2010 with Rev. Ken Hennesy officiating.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service. Burial will be at Prays Mill Baptist Church Cemetery in Bill Arp.
