Life Legacy

Frank W. Atkinson, Sr., age 79 of Villa Rica, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2010. He was born March 27, 1930 in Oakdale, Louisiana to the late Jeff Bailey and Eva Hughes Atkinson. He was a Staff Sgt. of the US Army for 20 years and worked as an auto repair mechanic for UPS. He was Baptist by faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Cynthia Cole Atkinson.

Survivors are his daughters and sons-in-law; Leanne and Dennis McCaslin of Burbank, CA, Janette and Tim Silva of Snellville, Mildred Lugene "Lou" and Denny Shewmake of Canton, GA, Sherre and Keith Rohling of Thomaston, and Frank Wendell Atkinson, Jr. of Villa Rica; sister and brother-in-law: Kay and Al Sykes of Missouri; brother: Van Rupert Atkinson of Lompac, CA; brother and sister-in-law: Patrick and Patricia Atkinson of PA; grandchildren: Karyn, Brian, Sean, Rory, and Danny McCaslin, Austin and Travis Fowler, Keri and Matthew Silva, Katie, Michael and Patrick Rohling, and three great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 11:00 AM from Hightower’s Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in the Bellview Baptist Church Cemetery, Rockmart, GA.

The family will receive friends, Friday, January 22, 2010 from 6:00 PM until 8:30 PM at the funeral home.
