Life Legacy
Dorothy “Dot” Hartsfield Ivey, age 73 of Winston, passed away, Tuesday, August 9, 2011. She was born January 17, 1938 in Atlanta, the daughter of the late Howard Ernest “H.E.” Hartsfield and Alma Odell Barrow Hartsfield. She was a homemaker and a member of the Kingsway Baptist Church. She loved flower and vegetable gardening as well as caring for her beloved Pomeranians: Cassie, Sofie and Sebastian. She was also an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves baseball team.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Tommy Hartsfield.
Survivors are her husband, Paul Richard Ivey, Sr., of Winston; children and their spouses, Cynthia Lynn Ivey of Mobile, AL; Paul Richard Ivey, Jr. and wife, Joyce, of Winston; Alicia Ellen Ivey and husband, Kenneth, of Winston; sister-in-law: Donna Hartsfield Wing of Roswell; brothers and sisters-in-law: Howard Ernest and Liz Hartsfield III of Midlothian, VA; Richard and Barbara Hartsfield of Lake Lanier, GA; grandchildren: Devon Ivey Pirkle and husband, James Edward Pirkle, Jr., Lindsey Marie Chambers and husband, Mitchell, Chelsea Lee Cook, Paul Richard “Trey” Ivey, III, Andrew Caleb Ivey and Mary Katherine Ivey; great grandchildren; Mason Hines, Kameron, Anthony Caleb Cook and Kira Leigh Ransdell.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 12, 2011 at 11:00 am from Hightower’s Memorial Chapel, Douglasville with Dr. Bill Wininger officiating. Interment will follow in the Crestlawn Memorial Park with Paul Richard Ivey, Jr., Kenneth Ivey, Trey Ivey, Andrew Ivey, Jacob Erickson, James Pirkle and Mitchell Chambers serving as Pallbearers.
The family will receive friends, Thursday, August 11, 2011 from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
