Obituary for Virginia Lee Hiscock

Mrs. Virginia Lee Morse Hiscock, age 66, of Whitesburg, Georgia, passed away suddenly Sunday, August 6, 2017 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident that also claimed the life of her husband, William Hiscock, III.

Virginia was born in Quitman, Georgia, on May 12, 1951, the daughter of the late Freddie Thomas Morse and the late Mary Josephine Gunn Morse. She was a Seafood Manager for Kroger in Austell, Georgia. She loved spending time with William and their family. They enjoyed fishing and camping as well as attending Central Baptist Church in Douglasville, Georgia. She married William Hiscock, III on September 18, 2010. Virginia raised Tabitha Lancaster, a very special niece of hers whom she and William dearly loved. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents and her husband, William, she was also preceded in death by her sisters: Carolyn Gunn, Mary Charlene Cannon, and Marilyn Marie Lancaster; and her brother: Marvin Thomas Morse.

Virginia is survived by her brother: James E. "Jim" Morse of Tallahassee, Florida; sisters and brother-in-law: Marjorie and Scotty Cannon of Meigs, Georgia, and Josephine Gunn of Thomasville, Georgia; her step-daughter: Amanda Brown of Carrollton, Georgia; her step-granddaughter: Elizabeth Grace Brown; brother-in-law: Wesley Cannon of Meigs, Georgia; several nieces and nephews.

The families will receive friends at Hightower’s Memorial Chapel on Saturday, August 12, 2017 from 10:30 A.M. until 12:30 P.M.

The Funeral Service for William and Virginia will be conducted Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Hightower’s Memorial Chapel in Douglasville, Georgia with Pastor Steve McFall and Reverend Larry Tucker officiating.

Interment will follow in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Whitesburg, Georgia.
