Obituary for Mary Loethra Morris

Mary Loethra Taylor Madden Morris, age 98, of Douglasville passed away on Friday, July 14, 2017. Mary was born in Union, Mississippi on December 20, 1918, daughter of the late Nathan C. Taylor and Eva Kate Lyle Taylor. She was a retired sales clerk with Franklin Simon and a member of Calvary Church of God in Douglasville.

She is survived by daughter, Paula Dutton of Douglasville; sister, Luva C. Butts; step-daughters, Jackie Gosnell and husband David; Hazel McKrite; step-sons, Charles Morris and wife Connie, Donald Morris and Athel Morris, Bob Morris and wife Sharon; several step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Mary is preceded in death by her daughter, Peggy J. Dillard; the father of her children, Joe K. Madden; husband, John H. Morris; sister, Lora D. Johnson; brother, Wilburn C. Taylor.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 17, 2017 at Hightower’s Memorial Chapel with Dr. Randy Locke officiating. Interment will follow the service at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Conley, Georgia.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 16, 2017 from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
