Obituary for Lawrence Douglas "Doug" Camp

Lawrence Douglas “Doug” Camp, age 83, of Douglasville, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2017. He was born in Winston, GA on August 17, 1933, son of the late William Fred Camp and the late Manie Lee McKoy Camp. Doug was a retired computer operator with Norfolk Southern Railway with 44 years of service. He was a member of Ephesus Baptist Church where he was a member of the Hewlett Phillips Sunday School Class.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers; Don Camp, Ernest Camp and Russ Camp; sister-in-law Betty Jo Camp.
Doug is survived by his wife, Mary Prince Camp; children, Mark Camp and wife Beth, and Barry Camp; grandchildren, Whitney Inglis and husband Eric, Taylor Camp, and Zachary Camp; great-grandchildren, Katie and Kara; brothers; Stewart Camp and wife Peggy, John Camp and wife Shirley, Tom Camp and Terri Curtis; sisters-in-law, Elaine Camp and Nelda Camp; several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at Hightower’s Memorial Chapel on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 2:00 PM with Dr. Billy Godwin officiating. Interment will follow the service at Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, June 8, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Friday from 12:00 PM until the service hour of 2:00 PM.
