Obituary for John David Fasick

John David Fasick, age 75, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2017. He was born in Mifflintown, PA on August 16, 1941, son of the late Clyde A. Fasick, Sr. and Esther Ruth Hickerson Fasick. John grew up in Sewanee, Tennessee, was a Cadet at Sewanee Military Academy, and was a Veteran of the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a banker and worked with several banks during his career and retired in 2009 from First National Bank of West Georgia. He was a member of Central Baptist Church and was a member of the Ed Carlton Sunday School Class.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Meade Fasick; son, Matthew Fasick and wife Cindy; daughters, Allison Smith and husband Lee, and Nicole Fasick and Will Velazquez; granddaughter, Layne Fasick; grandson, Jared Smith; step-son, Joseph Ridgeway; sister, Esther G. Little; mother-in-law, Helen Meade.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, Clyde A. Fasick, Jr.; sister, Helen Ann Van Sickle; and father-in-law and best friend, Stockton Meade.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Hightower’s Memorial Chapel with Reverend Steve McFall and Reverend Charles Gibbs officiating. Interment will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 7, at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 6, from 2:00 PM until the funeral hour of 4:00 PM.
