Obituary for Glenda Muriel Hollis

Glenda Muriel Hollis, age 73, of Winston passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017. She was born in Phenix City, Alabama on May 4, 1943 to the late Emmit Arnold Davis and the late Vera Hudson Davis. Glenda was retired from Kmart and a member of Douglas Chapel Church of God in Winston. Glenda always had a smile on her face and was loved by everybody.
She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Charlie Lee Hollis, son, Mark Hollis; brother, Kenneth Stamps and wife Sadie, grandchildren, Daniel Mooney, Lacy Sutton, Jonathan Hollis, Brandon Brooks, Jacob Hollis, Stevie Cook, Debra Vanderbush; great grandchildren, James Sutton, Khai Sutton, Tristan Mooney, Anna Mooney, Hayden Wright, Serenity Vanderbush, Ezekial Vanderbush; several sister in laws and brother in laws and numerous nieces and nephews.
Glenda was preceded in death by her daughter, Gail Cook; son, David Hollis; sister, Joyce Hollis; brother, Glen Stamps.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Hightower’s Memorial Chapel with Brother James Massengill and Brother Chris Jiles officiating. Interment will follow in the Douglas Chapel Church of God Cemetery on Highway 166 in Winston.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 3, 2017 from 5:00 until 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
