Obituary for Ethel Maudie Holcombe

Ethel Maudie Holcombe, age 72, of Douglasville, GA, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2017. She was born on May 3, 1944 in Wrightsville, GA, daughter of the late Clarence C. Pope and the late Maudie Daniels Pope. Ethel was a loving mother and grandmother and a caretaker to many people and a member of Westview Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ed Pope and son-in law, Ernest Kennedy.

Ethel is survived by her husband, Bobby Holcombe; daughter, Mary Kennedy; sons, Donald and Karla Holcombe, Robert and Amanda Holcombe, Carl and Suzanne Holcombe, Timmy and Patricia Holcombe, Jimmy and Kari Holcombe; grandchildren, Kayla Holcombe, Danielle Holcombe, Jayson Holcombe, Jessica Holcombe, Katie Holcombe, Maddie Holcombe, and Kinsley Holcombe; sister, Beverly and J.C. Horton; mother-in-law Jewel Holcombe, several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Billy Wallace officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 from 5:30 PM until 9:00 PM.
