Obituary for Alma Joe Cox

Alma Joe Redden Cox, age 76, of Douglasville passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2017. She was born in Pulaski, Tennessee on May 15, 1940, the daughter of the late Carl B Redden and the late Annie Allen Redden. She retired from the Robert Bosch Company where she was a supervisor. She was a faithful member of the Lithia Springs Church of Christ. She loved working for the Lord and being a Sojourner. She also loved spending time with her family and camping. She was the “best Mom and Wife”.
She married the love of her life, Eddie Cox, on April 21, 1967. She and Eddie were blessed to be able to celebrate 50 years together on the day before she departed this life.
In addition to her parents, her brothers, Charles Redden and Wayne Redden, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years: Carl E. “Eddie” Cox of Douglasville; children: Tammy L. Droll and her husband, Don of Temple, Teresa J. Mayfield, and her husband, Dick of Villa Rica, and Randall Cox of Douglasville; adopted children: Jon McDonald of Sevierville, TN, and Amy McDonald of Hiram, GA; sister: Francis Redmon of Colliersville, TN; brothers: Jimmy Redden and Hollis Redden, both of Lithia Springs, GA; grandchildren: Anna Rose Cox of Carrollton and D. J. Droll of Temple.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, April 24, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Hightower’s Memorial Chapel in Douglasville with Minister Larry Acuff officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville with Randy Cox, Dick Mayfield, D.J. Droll, Don Droll, Chris Rutherford, and Jon McDonald serving as Pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, April 23, 2017 from 2:00 – 5:00 P.M. and on Monday, April 24, 2017 from 11:00 A.M. until the service hour of 2:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests contributions to the Lithia Springs Church of Christ or to the Camp Inagehi, c/o Lithia Springs Church of Christ 7223 S Sweetwater Rd, Lithia Springs, GA 30122.
